Varieties / Grades

Lakadong Turmeric (GI Tagged)

Appearance & Aroma

Deep golden-orange, fine free-flowing powder from the Pnar tribe's traditional cultivation in the Jaintia Hills; distinctly richer colour than regular turmeric due to its exceptionally high curcumin content.

Curcumin content of 7–12%, up to six times higher than regular turmeric's 2–3%. Naturally rich in turmerones (3–6% of its essential oil) — aromatic compounds shown to boost curcumin absorption by up to 700% by blocking the P-glycoprotein that pumps curcumin out of cells, preserving nature's complete formula rather than the stripped, synthetically enhanced profile found in supplements.
